Our Purpose
1 in 5 Australians between the ages of 16 and 85 experience a mental health condition in any year with 8.6 Australians taking their own life each year. Services are scarce and the professional body of mental health workers are limited and often burnt out. My Colourful Mind would like to contribute to reducing the stigma associated with mental health issues by creating quality entertaining and informative video games for families and for the use in schools to assist young people on managing depression, stress and anxiety, and building resilience. My Colourful Mind sees a clear opportunity to create an evidence based CBT video game that could not only take the place of mundane homework tasks but also support young people to remain engaged and optimistic of reaching positive therapy outcomes. Talking openly about our mental health like we talk about our physical health is essential moving forward to start to change society’s perspective on mental health issues and advocate for prospective change.
Have you ever had that dreaded feeling where you think your’e loosing control and don’t know if you can manage it? Funny that…! So do 1 in 4 Australians and 31% of US teenagers aged 13 to 18 years old experience anxiety. Challenge yourself to overcome life’s obstacles and move into a new world filled with colour and confidence.
Our purpose is to provide young people with access to evidence based knowledge and skills and gain confidence to overcome their individual challenges, through the use of an engaging game. Entertainment is a priority and Taming Yore Dragon has been crafted to be engaging, interactive, and informative, providing a safe virtual environment where young people can easily access, explore and apply Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques.
